The visa is issued to an alien who travels to Brazil because of diplomatic trips, official, business or pleasure. Under eighteen without their parents or concerned, must submit the authorization with the signature of both. The request for a permit may be made in Brazilian consulates. The passport must have at least six months validity from the time of permit application.

For tourists arriving from Mercosul countries do not need a residence permit, only the presentation of identity card.
