August 18th, 2011 by andrea

Brazil is working on e-passports. With the aim of reducing waiting times, particularly in anticipation of the World Cup in 2014, is studying an electronic reading of passports that will be tested in the airport in the capital Brasilia.
The plan would make the system operational throughout the country before the date of the great sporting event. Initially, the first question is will the Lisbon-Brasilia, Brazilian and Portuguese for passengers, and will then be extended to all visitors.
The reading system is based on principles of simplicity and efficiency: the passenger will present a passport with an electronic chip which, after a readable, will confirm the information and photos on your identity document, while an analysis will confirm the biometric ' authenticity. All for a duration of a few minutes, thus ensuring the speed of operation.
